It\u2019s official \u2013 the scales we have are useless to weigh a wriggling two week old puppy. Once they get to 1kg they won\u2019t sit still long enough to get any sort of reading. Fortunately, we have ordered some fish and luggage scales that we can use from now on and they should be here in a day or two. In the meantime it\u2019s anybody\u2019s guess exactly what the more wriggly puppies weigh at the moment. I can tell you that Aristotle has gained weight, but other than that it was all a bit vague. Maybe the answer is to put all the sleeping puppies in a large basket on the scales and then take them out one at a time and see how much it goes down by.<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s profile update is the character of the pack. It\u2019s quite incredible when they are just two weeks old and only really eat or sleep that Amigo has already stood out as the Macavity of the pack. If you don\u2019t know who Macavity is then I heartily recommend reading T.S. Eliot\u2019s \u2018Old Possum\u2019s Book of Practical Cats\u2019. You will find there is really no one like Macavity, except of course Amigo. He\u2019s always the first to start climbing out of the washing basket at weighing time. He\u2019s the one to be found clambering over the others to get to the top of the pile and in the nicest possible way seems to be a fun loving little puppy. It\u2019s anybody\u2019s guess what he weighs today. He simply wouldn\u2019t sit still.<\/p>\n
