The most important thing is not the puppies at all, but their real uncle, Shadow’s brother Freddy. Freddy lives with the human Annette, after whom our little Annette is named, and he is seriously ill. He has a tumour, which at first was thought to be benign. However he is very poorly. He can’t walk, can’t climb stairs and even can’t bark. Please will all the readers of this diary, all over the world, pray for little Freddy. He is only 2 ½ year old and is a lovely dog. All our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

For the puppy weigh in there is lots of good news. We have achieved a couple of milestones today. Arnold has passed the kilogram mark and hardly fits in the dish on the scales. Avril put on an amazing 74g and has completely pulled back her position. For me the most important news is that tiny Aristotle has at last hit the 750g mark, weighing in at 760g. Altogether now, ‘For he’s a jolly good fellow, for he’s a jolly good fellow, for he’s a jolly good fellow, and so say all of us.” Three cheers for Aristotle. Hip, hip, hooray. Hip, hip, hooray. Hip, hip, hooray.

We have even more news and I’m too excited to save it until later. Alan walked this morning. He properly supported his weight on his tiny legs and walked several steps across the pen. It was very exciting.

I’m the only one excited about the next piece of news. We’ve got a mole in the garden. We haven’t had moles since we lived in Belgium and to be quite honest I’ve missed them. I went out to investigate the garden this morning and there, by the summerhouse was our very first mole hill. I came running in to get the others to show them. They have never lived with other creatures digging up our garden.

Finally, I have posted today’s video for you. I love this one. If you watch right through you will see that Amigo nearest his mum’s front leg, finishes eating and tries to get comfortable. Then he rolls off altogether and goes to find somewhere to lie down on his own. Avril patters after him to snuggle up and Amigo is less than impressed. He goes to a different corner and she follows him. In the meantime, Arnold tries mountaineering up his mother’s side and finally Aristotle has fallen asleep while eating, still attached to his mother. I could watch them all day!

So much can happen in a morning.
