We watched the England game with my Mistress yesterday afternoon. Well, Shadow watched it. I snoozed and my Mistress half listened while reading a book and intermittently dozing. Once we\u2019d scored she couldn\u2019t bring herself to watch any more as she was convinced it was all going to go horribly wrong. As it turned out, much to her surprise, it didn\u2019t go wrong and she has to wait for the match on Sunday for it to go wrong now. It was the highlight on an otherwise quiet day, if you discount the fact that the Belgian bank has managed to lose our money somewhere in the process of closing the account with them. It\u2019s only partly their fault. The bank they are transferring the money into has one of these silly systems whereby all money they receive goes into a single account and they only allocate it out based on the reference they are given. The Belgian bank transferred it to the right account but didn\u2019t put the right reference on it \u2013 so it is now sitting in a bucket of money at the receiving bank and we have to convince them to go and look for it and give it back to us. My Mistress thinks this just goes to show why you are better off keeping it under the mattress. I\u2019ve had a good look under my bed, but am disappointed to report that she doesn\u2019t seem to be keeping anything there.<\/p>\n
Having got excited about the thought of making marmalade and bought all the right equipment, it turns out you don\u2019t seem to get the right type of oranges in the shops right now. My Mistress needs to find out where she can get the Seville oranges and hope that she can get some before she drinks the bottle of whisky that has been bought with the intention of going in the marmalade. At least at the moment her tablets mean she can\u2019t have any alcohol, so there is at least a week before the lack of oranges becomes a problem.<\/p>\n
