Nor does it seem to have done her any harm. You would think she’d be curled up somewhere in great discomfort as the material and filling worked its way through her little body, but instead she is bouncing around as normal, being very annoying. My Mistress is seriously thinking of getting a crate that she can sit in when she needs to be left. It seems a shame to withdraw her right to freedom, but some dogs just don’t realise what a privilege it is. When it comes down to the difference between rights and privileges I had a worrying conversation with a teenager who was under the impression that access to Facebook should be a human right. Does he not know that there are still people in the world being tortured and who aren’t allowed to stand up and disagree with the government of their country? I suppose on the other paw, just imaging what a spoilt place the world would be if the worst we had to think about was whether people had unrestricted access to Facebook!

My Mistress has just finished listening to ‘The Lost Symbol’ by Dan Brown as an audio book. It was a good book, although perhaps longer than it really needed to be. The thing she found most annoying was the overuse of the word ‘shone’. It would be bad enough anyway, but was made considerably worse by the fact that it was a read by an American and the Americans don’t say the word ‘shone’ correctly. They say ‘shown’ instead of shon. It got to the point where my Mistress was shouting at the cd player every time the word was repeated.

Shadow is showing no remorse for eating the oven gloves.
