Noah didn’t have to face the ground suddenly freezing over, at least not as far as we know. You can just see him up in that ark with the animals and them being frozen in one spot. Not that there was anywhere for them to go until the water went down a bit, but I shouldn’t think that the lions and other tropical animals were overly impressed. It wouldn’t have been the done thing to make deerskin coats out of the reindeer, although we’ll never know if there were some other species that got used for parts along the way.

Anyway, I digress. The good news about the temperature is that it is easier for Shadow and me to run round outside without finding ourselves up to our knees in mud. The downside is that driving conditions are a little precarious given that half the roads are still covered with flood water and my Mistress needs to be extra careful. It also took ten minutes to defrost the car and that is never good. The bit my Mistress was most pleased about however is that when it’s frozen, clearing up after us round the garden is a much less noxious experience.

The Christmas card writing is now going on apace. Almost all the overseas cards have been posted, except the one my Mistress has lost the address for and she is now working her way through all the other ones she sends within the UK. I thought of sending one or two, but I can’t decide who to send them to. It’s not that I don’t know lots more people than that, it’s just that I can’t be bothered to write more than a few cards.

‘Then after the floods came the ice and lo the ground was hard’, sorry I just felt that should be written in the style of […]

[2

post-3181","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
