Aristotle and I are in agreement and pears are best. We have already picked the pears at the low levels on the tree and couldn\u2019t reach the ones that are still there. Then yesterday when Mum was mowing the grass she bumped into one of the branches and some of the pears fell off. You have never seen us move so quickly to hoover up the ones that were on the ground. We\u2019d managed to eat two each before Mum stopped the mower and came back to pick the others up. Apparently we have to leave those for Dad, which frankly is a shame. Maybe we think they are best as they are not as plentiful in the garden as the apples and we\u2019ve just started taking the apples for granted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the lemon trees have officially moved indoors for the winter. Mum brought them in on Saturday and they now have the prime window spot in the garden room. Our bed had to move for them to stand there, but I\u2019m not bitter. The rate the lemons are growing I am not completely sure how they will every be moved outdoors again, but that\u2019s a problem for next spring if Mum doesn\u2019t kill them in the meantime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We went on the circular walk around the village yesterday and I have to say I am at last really feeling like a local. I said hello to a number of dogs I\u2019ve met before and others that I hadn\u2019t seen. Then there was a puppy who hasn\u2019t lived here very long and was very excited to meet me. That made me feel as though I was an old paw at village life, which was nice in an odd way. I was even good and remembered to poo right next to the bin to make it easy for Mum to dispose of and not have to carry with us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We\u2019re up to 15.67 of our 50 mile challenge, so it\u2019s not going too badly. Of course, there was a lot of time in the garden too and I had quite a good run around with Aristotle, so I\u2019ve done rather more than that in total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
