One year<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday we had been in our house for one year. It\u2019s funny thinking we have been through a whole cycle of apple eating, herb planting, and vegetable growing. Mum is planning to keep looking back at photographs to see how things have changed in that time. One thing that is different this year is that things are not so green. The drought has affected quite a lot of the garden and there\u2019s nothing much any of us could do about that. The sunflowers last year were definitely better, but don\u2019t tell Ari I said that as he really did try very hard. Hopefully he can do better next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So many plans<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Mum has so many plans for the things to be done to the house, but they are waiting on approval of some of the changes. Once one thing happens then lots more will follow. I\u2019ve been trying to work out what it\u2019s going to mean for us, but that\u2019s not easy. When I ask the question \u2018Where will our things be while the changes take place?\u2019 Mum just shrugs. She says we\u2019ll sort something out, but it seems to be anybody\u2019s guess what that something will be. Ari\u2019s room won\u2019t be affected, so he says I can always share with him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Orchard<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The first part of today will be taken up with going round the orchard with Dad. I need to show him which are the trees for the tastiest apples and keep an eye on what he\u2019s doing. I don\u2019t want to leave him unsupervised where my apples are at risk. They are very dear to my heart. To be truthful, it\u2019s probably more my stomach than my heart, but you get the general idea. Ari will no doubt want to show off his jumping skills to pick the fresh apples from the tree. He\u2019s not bad for an old dog with bad legs. Shadow will just waddle along behind, wagging her tail, happy to have Dad around an oblivious to the rest of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
