Mum spends an awful lot of time mowing the grass. With her knee being poorly she\u2019s finding it hard to use the big sit on mower. That means walking up and down with the small electric one. It takes about two to three hours to charge the batteries of that one, so she can only usually use it once in a day. Given that it takes six lots of charging the batteries to do all of the grass it means she can have one day off if she cuts the grass weekly. Which day she can have is decided for her most of the time by the weather. Today is a mowing day. Yesterday was a mowing day. Tomorrow? Well I\u2019m arguing that should be her day off, but I\u2019m not sure she\u2019s listening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ve been watching Shadow in her old age and wondering if that is how I will end up when I\u2019m old. She\u2019s happy enough as long as she can see Mum. If she can\u2019t see Mum she gets very distressed. I think it may be harder for her with being deaf, so she can\u2019t hear if Mum is in the other room and Mum can\u2019t call to reassure her. She\u2019s ok if everything continues completely in line with her expected routine, but it really doesn\u2019t work if things change. I\u2019ve told you that she has started to chew the post, but she howls too. I know I\u2019m a good one to talk as I\u2019ve been known to start up if I think Mum\u2019s gone out without me, but Shadow does it ALL the time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mum\u2019s already told us that our lunch will be late in the day of Grandpa\u2019s funeral. She has promised to give us something before she goes and she won\u2019t be out too long \u2013 it\u2019s just not at the right time for our routine. What she can\u2019t do is find a way to stop Shadow howling. She\u2019s even going to leave a note on the door in case anyone worries why she\u2019s howling \u2013 just to let people know she\u2019s fine and just wanting her lunch on time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
