We have an answer and it\u2019s rabbits! If you weren\u2019t paying attention the question was which animal has destroyed the Herefordshire Russet apple tree? It\u2019s only a very young tree and there is no way it can recover from the onslaught it has received. Once we realised there was a problem Mum ordered some tree protectors. Sadly it was a race against time and on this occasion the bunny was not napping. He or she came back and finished the job the following night. The tree will have to be replaced, once the tree protectors have arrived. I\u2019ve been put on rabbit duties but sadly it comes when I\u2019m not looking. There\u2019s a fox too, but he doesn\u2019t do anything to the trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mum is looking on the bright side. If it\u2019s rabbits rather than deer then she\u2019s less worried about the holes in the fence being big enough for me. The fox is much smaller than me and a little less worrying \u2013 according to Mum anyway. She\u2019s got a fair idea where the fox is coming from and is talking to Dad about what they can do. Again, it\u2019s me she\u2019s worried about. She loves having the wildlife visit, she just doesn\u2019t want us to go walkabout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We were all so quiet on Tuesday that Mum was starting to worry we were ill. She is so used to us winding each other up, but when Dad is home and the family is complete we don\u2019t do that so much. It\u2019s funny. It\u2019s not that we behave for Dad and not Mum, it\u2019s just that when our pack is together we all feel less stressed. Mum supposes we relax more as she\u2019s more relaxed and that could be true. Of course there are also fewer deliveries than just before Christmas and that definitely helps. We do like a good bark when a delivery comes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
