No one seems to want to get up this morning, except me and that was only because I needed the loo and my demands for an inside one aren\u2019t being met just yet. I went back to bed again afterwards but my Mistress had taken all the covers so it wasn\u2019t so much fun.<\/p>\n
I thought I might make one or two predictions for the year ahead. I think 2009 will be the year in which the economy has a rough ride for the first half of the year but begins to stabilise around July 15th<\/sup>. I think that the weather will be very wet for the spring but will be warm and dry throughout the summer beginning on May 21st<\/sup>. What will be interesting is how many of you now mark your diaries and hail me as a prophet when I am accidentally proved right. Now let\u2019s be honest here. I have no more idea of what is going to happen than the average newspaper columnist. Sometimes we make lucky guesses and then for evermore point back to the one thing in all the years that we happened to \u2018predict\u2019 or guess correctly. We don\u2019t bother mentioning the 153 things each year that were wild guesses that didn\u2019t happen. Oh I don\u2019t doubt that there are people out there who can genuinely make predictions, but on the whole I think you will find they have not succeeded in securing themselves a position as a newspaper columnist.<\/p>\n I\u2019m off to make a cup of tea and then consult the tea bag to see if it wants to tell me anything of great importance.
