Mum seems to have a lot of odd things. Now bear with me here. I\u2019m nearly six years old so I realise she\u2019s been around a lot longer than I have. During my lifetime when we\u2019ve listened to music it has mainly been the result of Mum shouting at an electronic device to play something. On the whole that has been Shadow listening to the radio before her hearing went completely. I was helping Mum pack today. \u2018What\u2019s that? I asked as she filled a box with odd discs in cases. She explained they were cds and they were how she used to play music. She put one into a device in the lounge to show me. Life is so much easier now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then she started packing the next thing, some odd tapes that ran between two reels. \u201cWhat\u2019s that?\u2019 I asked. She explained it was how she\u2019d played music before she had the cds. She put one into a device in the lounge to demonstrate. None of these devices have been used as far as I know during my lifetime. Once they were packed she moved on to the next shelf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018What\u2019s that?\u2019 I asked, even more confused. This time they were big round black discs. She explained that these were called records and she used them to play music before the tapes. You can see a theme developing here! If I\u2019ve understood this correctly, all of these are things that she hasn\u2019t used for many years and now she\u2019s taking time to put them carefully into boxes and store them ready for moving to the new house. If life continues on the same vein, we are going to need a very large house to store all the redundant technology before much longer. I think it might be time for a clear out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
