We\u2019re nearly at our big switch on. To be fair, Mum has cheated. She\u2019s already turned the Christmas tree lights on in the hall. She\u2019s started to put batteries into the battery operated lights and made the wreath. There is just one little thing that\u2019s spoiling it all. When I say \u2018little\u2019 I mean \u2018big\u2019. We have taken the difficult decision that Dad won\u2019t come home at Christmas. We\u2019re trying to be positive about it and say we\u2019ll have another Christmas on a different date when he can safely come home. I\u2019ve said I\u2019ll help taking photos of the decorations to send to him. I think Mum is going to call him by video call so he can be part of us turning on the lights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/alfiedog.me.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/IMG_0538-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Christmas wreath\" class=\"wp-image-18263\" width=\"384\" height=\"512\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Aristotle\u2019s leg<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>What I haven\u2019t told you is that Aristotle has tweaked his other back leg. Mum doesn\u2019t think he\u2019s torn that ligament but has strained it. He is now on rest and no stairs. He\u2019s much happier with the arrangement than Shadow is. Mum is getting fed up of having to take them out of the front door and round to the back garden. Quite honestly our house has too many stairs if you have bad legs. Not as many as the house in Switzerland so I suppose that\u2019s a blessing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shadow is doing very well on her regime of rest and vitamins so Ari is now on the same programme. We are hoping they will both be fit and well again soon. Mum has told me to be careful!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Shadow\u2019s tree<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Shadow has her own Christmas tree. Mum thought it might cheer her up. It\u2019s an old artificial one. The top bit won\u2019t stay on, so it\u2019s a half a tree, but it looks all right and Shadow is not complaining.
