Having Puppies is Hard<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You know, this whole having puppies business is hard. You will always find people saying there are a lot of unwanted puppies in the world but that doesn\u2019t mean it\u2019s easy. It can be quite like humans. They often get pregnant when they don\u2019t mean to, so humans can find it easy too but that\u2019s not the case for all of them. There are humans who can\u2019t have children who really wanted them. Why am I telling you all this? Well as you know, I would have liked to have puppies but can\u2019t because I have a heart murmur. I have to make do with being an indulgent aunt and I was getting particularly excited about that idea as I was going to have more great-nieces and great-nephews born in this country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not Going to Plan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My niece Sybil, is pregnant but despite our average litter size being between 4 and 6 she\u2019s only expecting one puppy. Shadow is as disappointed for her as I am as it will also be another grandpuppy for her, as her son Leo (D\u2019Artagnan) is the father.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then there is my darling niece Izzy. The poor dear, she was so sure she was pregnant. She went for her scan yesterday and received the sad news that she isn\u2019t expecting puppies this time around. She will of course try again in the spring, but it doesn\u2019t stop her disappointment for now. Being a bowl half-full, rather than a bowl half-empty sort of a dog, I hope she can see that there might be an upside. It\u2019s her first litter and it would all have been so hard for her to have the help she needed with the new lockdown measures. Hopefully in spring she will find things a whole lot better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019d just like to send them both all my love and say I\u2019m thinking of them. I do hope Sybil\u2019s puppy isn\u2019t too big as that can make the birth more difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
