You were our guiding light and we will miss you. To the very many of you who sent your messages of sorrow and support yesterday, thank you. They meant a great deal to us all. To those who lit a candle at the time of his passing, thank you. We will treasure that thought. He left this world peacefully at about 4.20pm with Mum by his side and Dad on the screen from Switzerland. Our vet took good care of him. Once he’d crossed the Rainbow Bridge we each went in to say our goodbyes. We will all grieve.

Final meal

Alfie’s final meal was of course steak. He had a rather nice one almost all to himself. Mum saved just one tiny piece for each of us for after we’d said farewell. I think he enjoyed it very much.

As these are exceptional times I asked Mum if she would like
to write her thoughts for you all.
