I\u2019m trying not to get excited about Crufts 2020, but it\u2019s hard. There aren\u2019t many of us entered this year and Mum says I\u2019m in such beautiful condition that I could do very well. The only problem is that we don\u2019t know if we\u2019re going or not because of Alfie. Mum has said we need to do some practice just in case we do go and I\u2019m certainly willing to give it a go as long as she promises not to fall over. She\u2019s not great at this sort of things at the best of times. When we get there, the human of my niece Sybil takes me in the ring. She\u2019s much better at it than Mum. It works out all right as long as Mum isn\u2019t standing anywhere I can see her. If she is, I just try to run out of the ring to find her and apparently that doesn\u2019t go down well with judges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shadow and Aristotle have been having an argument over who is\ngoing swimming today. Aristotle says that as Shadow is getting more walks than\nhe is, he ought to have the opportunity to go swimming. Mum says he\u2019s got a point,\nbut the problem is that being in the car with Aristotle would distress Alfie,\nso she\u2019d rather take Shadow. You would think that it\u2019s Mum he ought to be arguing\nwith, but he prefers arguing with Shadow. They can bicker for hours about nothing,\nso when he has a genuine grievance, we all hear about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s Shadow\u2019s birthday on Thursday and I\u2019ve seen her presents.\nMum has made me promise faithfully that I won\u2019t tell her what she\u2019s got before the\nday. I know she\u2019ll like them. We are of course all appealing to Mum to go to\nthe butcher\u2019s to buy some steak, but Shadow says if she does go then she should\nhave it all, which would be an awful shame. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
