In theory today is a normal day. The first normal day we\u2019ve had for a very long time. It\u2019s not completely normal as Mum isn\u2019t ready to be able to walk all of us yet, but I had loads of exercise over the weekend and played with my friend Bernie so I don\u2019t mind having a quiet day today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anyway, when I say normal, Mum has found the courage to try\ndriving a while five miles from home. She drove as far as the pub in the\nvillage on Saturday and did a whole two mile round trip yesterday. Today\u2019s ten\nmile round trip will be quite an achievement for her. Where things stop being\nnormal is that Alfie will go with her. I\u2019m a bit down as I am usually the one who\ngets bundled into the car for all the outings, but I do understand the reasons.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Where today is a special day is that it is Alfie\u2019s 14 years\nand 2 months birthday. We\u2019re all celebrating him getting this far. He\u2019s really\nrather proud of the achievement and says he is working on getting to the next\nmonth birthday now. We don\u2019t really know how likely that is. Everything Mum has\nread says that after a lymphoma diagnosis then life expectancy is normally\naround four weeks and six weeks if you\u2019re lucky. That\u2019s without any particular\ntreatment. It was four weeks ago last Friday that he was taken ill and it\u2019s\nnearly four weeks since the vet said it was lymphoma. He still seems quite well,\nso hopefully we have more time with him yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mum is really enjoying being able to spend a lot of quality\ntime with him, but I know she\u2019s going to be very sad when he isn\u2019t here\nanymore. We all are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
