I\u2019m not making new year resolutions this year. To be quite honest, other than resolving to live for the moment and make the most of the remaining time I have, there doesn\u2019t seem a lot I could try to aim for. I think it\u2019s probably the first year I haven\u2019t made any and I do think it is always a good thing to do. I guess there is only any point to them if you have the willpower to follow them through, otherwise they aren\u2019t worth the paper they\u2019re written on, if you write them down at all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I was actually thinking about this yesterday and discussing it\nwith our Mistress. What is willpower? Where does it come from? Do some dogs just\nuse it as an excuse to do as they please? \u2018Oh, it\u2019s not good, I can\u2019t diet, I\ndon\u2019t have the will power.\u2019 It strikes me that\u2019s just an easy way of letting\nyourself off the hook and holding yourself to a low standard. So here is my\nsuggestion for all you weak willed dogs \u2013 why don\u2019t you make your New Year\u2019s\nResolution to be to have enough willpower to do all those things you really ought\nto be doing? Whether that\u2019s being good at your training sessions, or losing the\nweight from all the extra dog biscuits. That gives you just one resolution to\nkeep and remember \u2013 to have the willpower!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To our surprise, our Master is close to finishing building his\nLego Yoda. It\u2019s kept him quiet for a while. I may yet have to bring his Airfix\nkit out in the hope he\u2019ll get that done too. Our Mistress on the other paw is\ninvestigating the bag of knitting which contains a jumper she started on three\nor four years ago. I wonder if she will get to the end of the first side this\ntime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
