Happy 14th<\/sup> Birthday, Alfie<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Happy 14th<\/sup> Birthday Alfie. What an amazing day. We are so very very lucky to have him as part of our family. When Mum and Dad went to meet him for the first time all those years ago, it was Dad who picked him up and Alfie just relaxed in his arms immediately. Mum was cuddling his brother, but Dad said, \u2018this one\u2019 and Dad had such a happy look on his face that there was no way that Mum wouldn\u2019t agree. She has never regretted that decision for one minute. She had wanted an Entlebucher Mountain Dog for years by the time Alfie came into her life and he has been everything she ever dreamed of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Official Birthday Photo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Alfie is putting his paws up today and said he was most certainly\nnot working on his birthday. He is planning to write something for you tomorrow\nabout his secrets on living a long life, but he has given permission for me to\nunveil his official fourteenth birthday photo. Here you are the very special recreation\nof the picture he and Mum had taken fourteen years ago. I thought I\u2019d show them\none after the other so you could see just what an amazing job the photographer\nhas done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steak not Cake<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We are all having steak instead of cake to celebrate. As Mum\npointed out it\u2019s better for us, but that works out well as if we have the\nchoice we\u2019ll take the steak every time. Alfie is having most of it, but there\nis a little bit for the rest of us too. It\u2019s going to be an extra special treat\nas we\u2019re having it at lunchtime and I don\u2019t normally have lunch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alfie has asked whether at the equivalent of his human\nbirthday he will be sent a telegram by the queen. I said it was more likely to\ncome from one of her Corgis, but he\u2019s not sure that she\u2019s still got any. He did\nsay that in all honesty he\u2019d be happy with a telegram from any Corgi, never mind\nthe Queen\u2019s ones. It will be another three of four months until he can claim\nthat so I\u2019m just putting you Corgis on standby. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
