Well, that\u2019s a relief. Alfie is feeling quite a lot better and\napparently his kidneys and liver are in very good shape for a dog of his age.\nAs he likes to keep telling us, he\u2019s going to be 14 in under two weeks. What his\nblood test did show was that the fat in his blood is a little high. It looks as\nthough he may have had a touch of pancreatitis. You would think it was catching\nin this house! He\u2019s obviously been spending too much time with Shadow. Anyway,\nafter discussing it with Mum, he\u2019s decided to move onto the special food that Shadow\nhas to try to prevent it happening again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Poor Mum, she gets so confused as to how much of which food to\nbuy for all of us. She\u2019s only just stocked up on the one Alfie was eating. I\nhope Ari doesn\u2019t go off it, or I\u2019m going to have to eat it instead. Our breed\ndoes seem to have more than our fair share of pancreas problems. Mum has said\nthat as a precaution, and given he did have a bout of it when he was younger,\nwhen Ari comes to the end of the food he\u2019s on she may move him on to the sensitive\ndiet as well \u2013 just to be safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Whilst you all go out trick or treating, or whatever it is you\nhave planned, I\u2019m going to the station this evening to meet Dad\u2019s train. I love\ngoing to greet him. Mum likes me going too as she\u2019s not awfully keen on\nstations at night. It depends which train he gets on, but you\u2019d be amazed how\nmany drunk people there seem to be even earlier in the evening. It\u2019s always\nworse on race meeting days. Some days it\u2019s obvious they are stag or hen parties\nas not only are they staggering but wearing the weirdest things. Mind you, that\ncould go for the race meetings too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
