Actually, it\u2019s not so much \u2018Dear Wilma\u2019 as Mum hasn\u2019t written\nto me, but why is it that she thinks I\u2019m going to want to hear about the dogs\nof other people she is meeting? I don\u2019t know those dogs. I\u2019m never likely to\nmeet those dogs. Why is she telling me about them? It\u2019s a cuddle and a walk\nwith her I want not a conversation, but that\u2019s humans for you. They tell us to\nstop barking but then talk to us incessantly. It\u2019s ok to be quiet. It\u2019s ok to\njust have a sniff and enjoy each other\u2019s company without having to fill every\nsilence. I\u2019m sure her friend\u2019s whippet is cute, but that doesn\u2019t mean I need to\nknow that. When she started to tell me about a friend\u2019s dog who has found quick\nways to get treats out of their treat dispenser, obviously I was more interested\nas that was useful information. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Apparently, I\u2019m booked in for a manicure this week. At least\nthat\u2019s something to pass the time and look forward to. I\u2019m guessing it\u2019s going\nto be one of those times when the expectations of dog and human differ. I\u2019ll\nhave my heart set on glitter and something pretty and Mum has probably arranged\nsomething entirely practical and disappointing for me. The alarming thing is\nthat she\u2019s warned the manicurist that I can be trouble and may be\nuncooperative. I really don\u2019t know where she gets that idea from. Ok, so it can\ntake three of them to hold me at the vet when it\u2019s time for my kennel cough\ninjection, but that\u2019s them squirting something unpleasant up my nose \u2013 what do\nthey expect? I\u2019m rather hoping that having my nails done might be a bit more\nrelaxing. It\u2019s a shame Shadow and I couldn\u2019t have had a whole spa day together\nwhile we were at it. I might need to work on Mum for that one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
