We\u2019re both finding the journey home quite stressful for one\nreason or another. Mum\u2019s head is not feeling great, which doesn\u2019t make driving\nmuch fun. Because it\u2019s too hot I can\u2019t be left in the car for her to have any\nbreaks without me. We only stop under the canopies of petrol stations while she\ngets fuel and so she doesn\u2019t get chance to use most of the service station. We\nhave little walks around the car park, but that\u2019s not much fun for either of\nus. Then there was last night\u2019s hotel. Oh boy was that one a mistake. It\u2019s\nright near a very busy road and I\u2019m really not a fan of traffic. Then there\nwere the people! It was a big hotel that does conferences and there were people\neverywhere. And I really do mean everywhere. I\u2019ve never known Mum really beg me\nnot to misbehave in a hotel before, but I could really see why she was asking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We did discuss whether it was practical to get back in the car\nand drive to my grandparent\u2019s house last night, but Mum said she really couldn\u2019t\ndrive any further. We\u2019re going there today and then home to Yorkshire. I am so\nlooking forward to running around our back garden at home and letting my fur\ndown. I really wish there was a way to get from one place to the other without\nit taking us quite so long. It\u2019s not so bad in the cold weather \u2013 although then\nI suppose the traffic can be worse, or at least it is if it\u2019s wet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There\u2019s this thing we do with my lead where Mum clips one end\nto my harness and one to my collar. She says it\u2019s extra safety in busy areas in\ncase I pull out of one or the other. Anyway, when she does that I know I have\nto walk by her side and keep watching her for instructions. It helps me not to worry\nabout everything else going on around me. She talks to me constantly when we\u2019re\nlike that and I keep my ears pricked to make sure I hear every word. Usually we\nonly do it in towns or at the train station, but we did that in the hotel\nyesterday and it definitely helped. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
