Today is an outdoor day. We have convinced our Mistress that\nat all available times she will not be indoors \u2013 well, not completely anyway.\nShe has asked for permission to spend some time in the summerhouse working and\nwe\u2019re ok with that. She wants Alfie to have some time outdoors with her as a\npriority. He won\u2019t stay out if she\u2019s not there and can get a bit distressed.\nYesterday he wasn\u2019t at his best and kept falling asleep in the doorway to the\nkitchen. It wouldn\u2019t be so bad but then he didn\u2019t get up when any of us needed\nto go in, so we spent all day climbing over him. He was 13 years and eight months\nold yesterday, so he probably found that thought a bit exhausting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The only fly in the ointment, if you\u2019ll pardon the pun, is\nthat there seem to be thunder flies everywhere. And I do mean everywhere. They\nseem to want to crawl through our fur and our Mistress\u2019s hair and it really isn\u2019t\nmuch fun. She keeps swatting them but we can\u2019t do that. It\u2019s most annoying.\nWhere have they all suddenly appeared from? One minute they weren\u2019t here and\nthe next minute they were. I\u2019m rather hoping they might not be here again soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now yesterday there was a small problem with Alexa. Oh it\nworked ok, but the problem was that our Mistress has a video call with our\nMaster for a while. It was hot where he was so the windows were open and in the\nbackground there were children playing. Normally if I hear children outside I\nsee it as my duty to let them know I\u2019m around. I jump up on a chair and look\nout of the window or go out to say \u2018hi\u2019. Well, I looked and looked and I just couldn\u2019t\nsee them anywhere and it was really annoying. Our Mistress tried explaining they\nwere actually 800 miles away, but it didn\u2019t help. I barked every time I heard\nthem and went on the alert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
