Friday Flashback<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Well I\u2019m here with Friday Flashback once again. Isn\u2019t it nice\nnow the sun is shining? It makes the whole day seem much more fun. Anyway, here\ngoes. Let\u2019s start with Shadow as a puppy after she\u2019d had a few days in kennels!\nThis is from ten years ago in 2009<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Happy to be home<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To describe Shadow\u2019s homecoming as enthusiastic would be\nputting it mildly. She bounced all over my Mistress and managed to cut my\nMistress\u2019s arm quite badly with her claws. When she got home, she ran round\nlike a mad thing, while I just quietly snuggled up and said how much I\u2019d missed\nmy Mistress. Shadow then excelled herself by peeing on the lounge carpet. I\nthink it\u2019s safe to say that whilst she has enjoyed being in kennels, she prefers\nto be at home with her humans just the same as me.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh dear this really did make me laugh from the following year\nwhen Shadow was in season. Poor Alfie, I don\u2019t think he ever really recovered\nfrom what happened in 2010<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Incident<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I tried just a little bit too hard to mount Shadow and I\ngot my bits in a bit of a pickle. Our very nice vet thinks I\u2019d got some of the\nhairs on crucial parts caught where they shouldn\u2019t be and it was that which was\ncausing the pain. I couldn\u2019t even put four paws on the floor at the same time.\nI won\u2019t go into all the details else my blog would get blocked as being\npornographic but I will say that it left me completely traumatised and not in\nany hurry to repeat the experience. After that I wouldn\u2019t leave my Mistress\u2019s\nside. Where she went, I went \u2013 even when she went to the bathroom. I think I\nwas terrified that Shadow would come looking for me again and that my male\nurges would take over. I am now fully supportive of my Mistress\u2019s suggestion of\na policy of segregation at crucial times. I am quite happy to be segregated\nanywhere as long as I can have my Mistress for company. I will even volunteer\nto be the one getting in the crate if it protects me from a repeat of the\nindignity and pain of this weekend.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was going to stop there but then I found this from 2014. When\nI read it out to her Mum groaned as it did all happen much as Alfie feared, but\nI\u2019ll tell you a bit more after you read it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Odd Christmas<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Shadow decided that Thursday, yesterday and today were her\nprime times to mate this season. She isn\u2019t mating this season, despite her best\nendeavours to distract me from whatever I was doing. However, all being well\nshe will mate in six months\u2019 time. If her season is in exactly 26 weeks, that\nmeans Christmas Day, Boxing Day and the one after will be the days she wants to\ndo the deed. You can see it now, the stud dog owners cooking the turkey while\ntheir dog and Shadow get up to mischief in the snow outside. They may of course\nnot eat turkey at Christmas in Switzerland, which would be a big disappointment\nto my Mistress who would happily eat it all year round. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyway, apparently that was the Christmas that Shadow tried to mate with my Papa, Rolex, but he wasn\u2019t interested in her. Then Mum walked into the edge of an overhanging roof and gave herself concussion and the car broke down at minus seventeen degrees! By the sound of it she won\u2019t forget that trip in a hurry!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
