I did like this from 2009 when
Shadow was still a young puppy.

Cuddles

It hasn’t been an exciting weekend at this end. Not unless
you include our first group cuddle in bed. Shadow can now climb onto my Master
and Mistress’s bed and if she’ll sit still for long enough, we can all have a
nice cuddle. If she doesn’t sit still, there are paws everywhere and we take it
in turns to be injured by her flailing limbs. The funniest bits are the times
that she falls off the bed, because she hasn’t kept an eye on where it ends and
the floor starts.

Oh dear I think in 2010 I might have had more sense than any
of them if I’d been there.

Gardening

I don’t know which of us could more easily be accused of
being mad. My Mistress went out in the rain yesterday to start digging out the
plot for her herb garden. This involves digging up a large amount of turf and
then digging over the bed and making it into a reasonable garden. She said that
working in the rain was not as tiring as working in heat, although even then
she only got about five feet of the length she wanted to do dug out. I on the
other hand was probably even closer to mad as I sat by the gate watching her. I
hate it when she is out at the front and I can’t be with her. The least I can
do is keep a watchful eye to make sure she is ok on her own. Shadow sat next to
me to keep me company so by the time we came in we all needed to dry off. My
Mistress pointed out to me that another time I would be better sitting on the
other corner of the gate under the trees where there is some protection from
the rain. I think she may have a point.

Oh dear this day in 2012 wasn’t so good

Megan not Pregnant

Well it turns out that Megan is exactly as pregnant as I am! And that is not a good thing as I’m a neutered male. It’s all very strange. She went for her scan and as far as can be seen there are no puppies. However, both she and Aristotle are still convinced that she is pregnant. She wants more food. She wants to put her feet up, wants to eat more and she gets tired more easily.

Aristotle is dealing with it on a more basic level. He feels the need to cover her scent and if my Mistress leaves Megan’s crate door open, he goes in her crate and pees everywhere. He says he has no idea why he has the need to do that. It’s just a deep seated need to make sure no one else can smell that Megan has been there. It’s his way of protecting her. I suggested he learnt to lock and bolt the front door instead as being a rather more useful means of protection when you live with humans.

That’s it from me for today.
