I\u2019ve told Mum that it\u2019s all her fault. She is complaining that\nwe don\u2019t have very warm weather. I pointed out that her \u2018summer body\u2019 wasn\u2019t\nexactly ready if it was. She didn\u2019t seem too thrilled by that suggestion and\nsimply went back to eating a bar of chocolate. What\u2019s the point in warm weather\nif you\u2019re still in your winter body? Perhaps it should be Mum chasing after the\nball instead of me. Mind you, to be fair, half the time I do make her chase after\nit, she just doesn\u2019t go as quickly as I do. She\u2019s reluctant to pick it up with\nher mouth too, which I think is very remiss of her. I try telling her that a\nfew good old fashioned germs would do her good, but it\u2019s one of those things I\nthink we\u2019re always going to see differently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alfie is reluctantly continuing his new exercise regime. He\ndid four laps of the garden yesterday. Shadow went out with him. She was\nsupposed to be offering encouragement. Given that at one point I heard him\nshouting \u2018Will someone get that annoying dog out of my way?\u2019 he may not have\nbeen seeing it in the same light. I think the real problem hit when she kept\ntrying to take the treats he was being offered for encouragement. He\u2019s just such\na softie where food is concerned and even though he likes eating he\u2019d still let\nany of the rest of us take his food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mum has been feeling a bit low. Ari and I have been running a\nshift system to cheer her up and check on her, but yesterday I hit on a whole\nnew idea. Given that making New Year\u2019s Resolutions can give her a bit of a\nboost I said we shouldn\u2019t limit them to the year. I made her sit down and work\nout what she wanted to achieve this week and promised to help her with them. I\nmade a few suggestions to start with, things like \u2018Walk Wilma whatever the\nweather\u2019, and then I let her get on with it from there. If nothing else she has\ngot as far as making some lists and we went for a walk even though it was cold\nand blowy and she didn\u2019t feel like it yesterday, so that\u2019s a start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
