13 years and 5 months<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Today Alfie has reached 13 years and 5 months old. I know that\u2019s\nan odd age to celebrate, but our Mistress has gone really soft about Alfie and\nis spoiling him at every opportunity. Mind you, his present is another\npractical one. She\u2019s bought him a harness to make lifting his rear end easier\nwhen he gets confused and it forgets to go with him. Our Mistress seems to\nthink that it\u2019s as much in his mind as his legs that there\u2019s a problem. One\nminute he\u2019s not able to get up and then the next he seems to have forgotten the\nproblem and is running around the garden. Sometimes he almost runs down the stairs\nand other times he pauses at the top to think about it and then can\u2019t do them\nat all. It\u2019s really very confusing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lots of walks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We all had lovely walks yesterday. Alfie even had one of his\nown. In an attempt to help the strength in his legs, our Mistress walked him\nround the garden on a lead to make sure he kept moving. It was really funny to\nwatch. It\u2019s fair to say Alfie wasn\u2019t that keen on the idea. On the outward part\nof the walk away from the house, our Mistress had to offer him treats the whole\ntime to get him to move forward. For the last side of the garden when he\nthought he was coming back in the house he suddenly speeded up and found moving\nmuch easier. After two rounds they called it a day but our Mistress is hoping\nto get him to do that again tomorrow and maybe either go round three times or do\nit twice at different times of day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I just regret I didn\u2019t think of insisting I need to be offered\nfood in order to walk. I really missed out on that one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
