Oldest Member of the Family<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s official, I\u2019m now the oldest member of our family. I\u2019ve\nlived long enough to overtake Grandpa. Grandpa was already quite old when I was\nborn as he was 80 then, but of course my age gets counted in dog years. Each\nyear I\u2019ve gone a little way to catch him up and yesterday I reached the equivalent\nof ninety-three and a third! Anyway, Grandpa won\u2019t be ninety-three and a third\nuntil Sunday, so that now makes me the oldest. I think he\u2019s probably rather\nwiser than I am, but I\u2019m doing pretty well for a dog. I had hoped for a party\nto celebrate but our Mistress says the present of my own dressing gown was all\nI\u2019m getting. It\u2019s a lovely dressing gown so I really can\u2019t complain. Oh, ok, I\ncan complain a little bit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh the wind<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It really does get us all in a state of excitement when\nthe weather is very windy. There are rattles and bangs we can\u2019t identify,\nwithout even taking into account the impact the pressure system itself has on our\ndelicate natures. Ok, so we aren\u2019t all that delicate, but when it comes to\nweather it can really upset our state of equilibrium. Our Mistress has told us\nto get used to it as it\u2019s going to be like this for another day or so. That\u2019s\nall very well for her to say, but we\u2019d really like it to stop now. I keep\nthinking I\u2019m going to blow away when I go outside. Only Wilma doesn\u2019t seem\nbothered by it. She still sits in the middle of the lawn finding a stick to\nchew as though it was nothing out of the ordinary. She doesn\u2019t stop to ask why\nthere are so many sticks to choose from, she\u2019s just happy that they\u2019re there. I\nprobably wish I could be more like that and stop worrying that one is going to\nfall on me at any minute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
