My weekend is not going according to plan. For a start my mistress is completely insufferable as she has been shortlisted in an international satire competition and is waiting to hear about the next stage of the process. If this is what she is like when she gets down to the last twenty one, what would she be like if she won anything? I think that in that eventuality I will need to move out for a few days. Although she has said if she wins this one, she will take me to Ireland with her, which would be rather fun. Anyway, my plan for the weekend as you may remember was to get them to play with me. Nowhere on my list were things like, get a new battery for the broken down car, dismantle the basket ball hoop or take apart the hammock. Apparently, these are all essential jobs to do with my master around to help. They are things my mistress didn\u2019t want to do one her own. Well I thought \u2018play\u2019 would be quite good to do with my master around to help and I didn\u2019t want to do that on my own either! It really is a tough life being a dog. I have at least persuaded them to light the fire for me and it has meant some time without my mistress sitting at the computer, both of which are things I should be grateful for. I\u2019m not sure whether or not to be grateful that my mistress is no longer going away this week. On the one paw I don\u2019t get to stay with my doggy friends, but on the other paw I don\u2019t have to miss her either. On balance I do rather like being around, particularly when my master is home too.<\/p>\n
