Yesterday there was just too much excitement for a dog of\nmy age. If it wasn\u2019t bad enough that we had people come to the house, which to\nbe honest I can do without, I had to contend with our Mistress getting excited\ntoo. At my time of life, I like things to potter along steadily. No highs, no\nlows, just everything as expected. I do not need my human to be excited because\nher latest book is in the number one slot in its category on Amazon and for\nthat matter ahead of one of her heroes, Charles Dickens. Oh don\u2019t get me wrong,\nof course I like it when she\u2019s happy, but as a dog it\u2019s people who matter. We don\u2019t\ncare if they are rich or poor, famous or no one knows them. We just take them\nas they are. We give them a good sniff and see if they scratch behind our ears\nand we\u2019re happy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It wouldn\u2019t have been so bad if it was only our Mistress.\nWilma has started packing for her trip. She has been pulling out all sorts from\nthe cupboard. There is her special lead that matches her collar so she can look\nreally smart on the Discover Dogs stand. Then there is her special show collar\nfor when she\u2019s in the ring at Crufts. She\u2019s going straight there from her trip\nto Switzerland so needs to remember to take everything with her. There\u2019s just\none small problem. Her entry tickets haven\u2019t arrived yet. If they don\u2019t come before\nshe sets off she has no idea what she\u2019s going to do about it. She\u2019s relying on\nour Mistress to sort it out, but our Mistress has got no idea either. This\ncould so easily go wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the meantime our Mistress is continuing with her Brexit\npreparations. She is still working on \u2018Hope for the best, plan for the worst\u2019\nand has obtained the correct International Driving Permits so she can drive\nacross Europe in the event of \u2018no deal\u2019. It\u2019s really odd, I think I told you\nshe needs a different one in case she drives into Liechtenstein than she does\nfor the rest of Europe. The odd thing is that inside that one, it says it\ncovers Mexico and Somalia but makes no mention of Liechtenstein. I really don\u2019t\nthink she has any plans to drive to either of those two, certainly not from\nhere as the starting point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
