Friday Flashback<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Before I get onto our Friday Flashback I need to tell you how Alfie got on. He\u2019s got another abscess. The vet was a little surprised because the teeth which normally cause it have been removed, so we have to see what happens. He\u2019s on antibiotics and will go back to see her in two weeks. He says he\u2019s really pleased that we\u2019ve found out what was wrong as it was getting him down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyway, I\u2019ve been looking back through the archives once again. Can you believe that Alfie wrote this about me two years ago?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2016 \u2013 Puddle Monster<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After Wilma\u2019s trip to the seaside and her unfortunate sea drinking incident, she rather went off getting her paws wet. It\u2019s taken over a month for her to forget how upset she was, that and some torrential rain earlier in the week. When they went for a walk on Monday, Wilma rediscovered her love of muddy puddles and was a very happy girl. Since then she\u2019s even seen fit to get into her paddling pool with all four paws, which given how hot it was yesterday seemed like a very good idea. She\u2019s now all set for whatever autumn throws her way and plans to make the most of it, as she did last winter. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Mistress is increasing the size of the pile of towels she keeps in the car ready for such occasions and has asked Wilma if she could please, just for once, keep muddy paws off our Mistress\u2019s clean clothes. I said the answer was to only ever wear dirty ones, but somehow humans never think that\u2019s such a good idea, or at least the female ones don\u2019t.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then I found this from the year before and all is forgiven. Can you believe they were all so excited about the news that I was coming to live here?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh It\u2019s going to be the best birthday ever. I\u2019m not allowed to say too much yet as I know our Mistress is still sorting out all the details, but I\u2019ve given the Orvis catalogue to Shadow altogether as I don\u2019t need it. I\u2019m not having a new bed, I\u2019m having my very own puppy. Finally, after all these years I\u2019m having a little girl puppy of my very own. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh I know at the age of ten you\u2019d think that wasn\u2019t something I\u2019d want anymore, but I do. I love puppies and I\u2019m sure that she and I will just have the very best time. Our Mistress says I can go with her when she goes to collect her and we can have a few days away together getting to know the puppy before she comes home and meets the others.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You might wonder why I started this with part of a catch phrase from The Flintstones \u2013 well that\u2019s because her name is Wilma. Our Mistress likes the name so much that she has agreed she will be called that the whole time. Now our Mistress is laughing about the fun she will have with recall using a Fred Flintstone voice to call her across a field!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re all really excited. Ari keeps telling everyone that his niece is coming to live here. Wilma\u2019s father is Ari\u2019s half-brother.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well that\u2019s all from me. I\u2019m going to find some mud just to get my own back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
