Normally we are given a bone and encouraged to make it last a long time. We\u2019re told not to spend all day chewing it as it won\u2019t last. We are all jealous of Wilma right now. She has been given permission to have beef rib bone after beef rib bone after our Mistress has been told that another dog owner has used that method to help pull misshapen teeth into the correct place. Our Mistress wonders if she should have started it sooner, but better late than never! Wilma was given her first one on Monday and is being encouraged to chew on it just as much as she can bear. She already had three more ready and waiting in the freezer and as the butcher is only half a dozen houses down the road there will be plenty more available where they came from. The rest of us are drooling and wishing our teeth had not grown quite right, but Wilma has at least let me have a little chew when our Mistress wasn\u2019t looking. She\u2019s a good friend like that.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n It was really funny the other day when Wilma lost her chew. She had our Mistress searching under chairs and tables for it. No one realised I\u2019d borrowed it and taken it in the other room. I really must remember in future not to leave it in my bed when I\u2019ve done that as it\u2019s a bit of a giveaway. Next time I must move it to Ari\u2019s bed and frame him so I don\u2019t get into trouble. It made the whole conversation between our Mistress and Wilma at the time quite funny to watch.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhere did you have it last?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI don\u2019t remember. I think I was on the settee.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHave you sniffed underneath to see if it\u2019s there?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYes, but it might help if you got down on the floor and looked for me in case I\u2019ve missed it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n You get the picture.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n And just to even things up a little, this is what Alfie wrote about Shadow a couple of years before that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Shadow\u2019s hormones are not quite so all over the place even though her season hasn\u2019t started. She is now able to spend the time with us without the frantic need to play with Aristotle 24hrs a day. She is still quite full of life, but we like her like that. It was just her manic bouncing that had all got too much. We\u2019re surprised her season hasn\u2019t started yet though. If it doesn\u2019t start soon my Mistress is likely to conclude she has missed one for some reason. It makes planning the timing of the next litter very difficult.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Well, the weather is going to be a bit warmer so I\u2019m putting a bid in for a long walk.
