Entlebuchers are Bright<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Entlebuchers are bright – In some ways we are too bright for most humans. At best we will utterly outwit you and at worst we\u2019ll keep you on your toes. Oh it won\u2019t stop us doing really stupid stuff, like swallowing a big piece of chew and making ourselves sick. That\u2019s just a dog thing. However, when it comes to working things out, we\u2019re the tops. An Entlebucher is an expert at problem solving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Crate Escape<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Wilma did not want to be in the crate in my room. Our Master and Mistress had gone out and due to the fact that quite honestly neither one of us is trustworthy, we were supposed to be having a quiet rest for an hour. I\u2019m fine with that concept as long as I don\u2019t think I\u2019m missing something. Wilma is never fine with the idea, beacause she always thinks she\u2019s missing something. In this case she was missing going out for coffee, but they\u2019d gone to a coffee shop which does not allow dogs. Now, being reasonable, I could see her point that they had chosen the wrong coffee shop but let\u2019s not dwell on that one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olympic Sport<\/h2>\n\n\n

Wilma would qualify for the Olympics if they made crate escape an Olympic sport. In fact she would be a gold medal contender. She has got her time for dismantling a crate down to well under three minutes. In fact when she really puts her mind to it we\u2019re on seconds rather than minutes. She has such dexterity in her front paws. Effectively she uses her toes totally like human fingers to take hold of the side of the cage and dismantle it exactly as our Mistress would. Then she just let\u2019s herself out. She doesn\u2019t do anything else. She just proves the point and then sits outside my crate talking to me until our humans come out and let us out. It\u2019s almost become a game, although I did hear our Mistress saying she was going to tape the corners up to make it more difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
