Wilma is still recovering from her operation so I get to bring you Friday Flashback, but before I do I have the pleasure of bringing you a confession from Alfie. He can no longer take the moral high ground over his bed. So far, I have taken all the blame and been made out to be the bad guy. Ok, so I am still pooing foam so it is not totally unjustified, however at last he has been found out. He was eating bed as well. Shocking isn\u2019t it. Goody four-paws Alfie who has gone on and on about his precious bed from puppyhood was finally caught being sick and throwing-up foam from HIS BED! I feel so much better for telling you that, although I will feel rather better when my system has cleared completely and am using it as an excuse for lots of cuddles, including trying to jump into our Mistress\u2019s arms while we were out for a walk!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I saw something yesterday that I really hadn\u2019t seen coming. Shadow may not remain our pack leader for much longer. It isn\u2019t that she is retiring or giving up voluntarily, it\u2019s that Aristotle has got rather more spark than I had given him credit for. He was happily chewing on an antler when his mother said she would take charge of it. Aristotle quietly but firmly said \u2018No\u2019 and his mother actually got off the settee and found somewhere else to sit. When I say \u2018got off\u2019 she was actually so shocked that she jumped off and just stood and stared at him.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Nobody says \u2018no\u2019 to Shadow, except my Mistress, of course, and that is entirely different. I hold my small friend in a whole new respect and think it might be a good thing if the boys regain the high-ground. I\u2019ll be standing right behind him when he does it. I could be his right paw dog and have far more say than I have now. I don\u2019t know what it would mean for Shadow as he sees Megan as \u2018his\u2019 girl. I guess there is a special honour in being the mother of the pack leader and she would be shown due respect. I know Shadow though and she won\u2019t give up her position without a fight and I know the way she fights, so it may involve a few trips to the vet before it\u2019s all sorted. On the other paw, she\u2019s his mum and she may just send him to bed early and tell him to stop answering back. I think I may now understand why she was so brutal to him when he was tiny.
