When you are excluded from something you are never quite sure if you really want it to go well or not. When my mistress came back and said her Writer\u2019s Group had gone well, I didn\u2019t know whether to be pleased or just say \u201cOh right.\u201d To be fair I was too carried away licking her and wagging my tail because she was home, to pay too much attention to anything she was saying. I sometimes wonder what it must be like to be a cat and be able to nonchalantly ignore your owner, when they have been out, as a punishment. For my part I am just so excited to have them back, I leap straight in without thinking, every time. I get a tummy rub into the bargain so it is always worth it.<\/p>\n
Of more concern was the arrival of two teenage girls. Wow is this going to be one scary house for the next week. I don\u2019t know a lot about teenage girls but from observation, hair, clothes and make-up seem to be of primary importance and dogs seem to be fairly low down the list. I can\u2019t decide whether to use all my charm to make them think I am adorable or whether to ignore them altogether, on the basis that they are a lost cause. I think teenage girls only find dogs interesting if they provide a way to meet \u2018cool lads\u2019. I really don\u2019t think I can be bothered.<\/p>\n
With house guests for simply weeks, I wonder how long it will be before someone tries to wind my mistress up by doing something like moving her book-mark to a different page. They got her with that one last year, it was fortunate that one of the children asked her how her book was going, because the unexpected interest alerted her to the fact that something was wrong. If that hadn\u2019t happened she would just have carried on reading and wondered why the plot didn\u2019t make sense.<\/p>\n
