Hi, it\u2019s Ari here and I\u2019m going to moan about \u2018pet names\u2019 today. I don\u2019t mean the names we\u2019re given at birth. I quite like being called Aristotle and am happy with it being abbreviated to Ari. What I\u2019m moaning about is the other things I get called. The names our Mistress thinks are \u2018sweet\u2019 or \u2018affectionate\u2019. Wilma gets called Megan but that\u2019s accidental. I suppose the only other one she has to put up with is the rather sugary \u2018sweetie-pie\u2019, but she\u2019s a girl so it\u2019s probably not so bad. Shadow doesn\u2019t really get called anything other than Shadow or \u2018Shads\u2019 or \u2018Mum\u2019 if I really want to annoy her. I think we\u2019d be eaten alive if any of us came up with anything too flowery for Shadow. Alfie for some reason finds his name extended to \u2018Alfredo\u2019 rather than just abbreviated and laps up every last term of endearment our Mistress finds for him. It\u2019s what I get called that\u2019s the problem. I get called \u2018Little Smew\u2019 which I know is special because it was something that our Mistress\u2019s favourite uncle used to call her when she was a child but \u2018Peanut\u2019, why do I have to be called Peanut? Oh, I know what the real reason is. It\u2019s because I was only 292grammes when I was born and was so tiny and they didn\u2019t know if I\u2019d live. However, I\u2019ve grown 100 times over since then and I don\u2019t much resemble a peanut. Well, I suppose my long body shape might look a bit like a peanut if you really wanted to stretch a point, but I didn\u2019t. But Peanut I am, and I\u2019m guessing that whatever I have to say, Peanut I will remain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reassure me, do any of you have embarrassing nicknames or is it just me?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
