It’s Wilma here. Obviously I couldn’t do the ‘looking back at puppyhood’ thing about myself because I’m still there and that’s how it all started. Alfie said so that I could still take part I could write about Aunty Megan when she was ten months old. This is from August 2010, which was the month that Aunty Megan moved to live with us here in England. I wish I could have lived with her too as I think we might have got on really well. This was before Aristotle was born too. He says he really loved Megan and hasn’t completely got over her moving away. He says that’s why he hasn’t let himself get quite so close to me. It’s because having a girlfriend is great, but it hurts when they’ve gone. I felt quite sad for him then, but this isn’t supposed to be about being sad, it’s supposed to be the fun things we all do as pups. This is what Alfie wrote.

Megan at 10 months

‘The three of us dogs have developed our

own version of rugby. It’s a sort of two on one version of the game. Megan is very good. She charges off carrying something and we have to try to catch her. She isn’t any faster than we are, but she is better at cornering, something that I have never completely mastered. Anyway, she has also learnt and has a natural talent for selling a dummy and it is confusing both me and Shadow in a quite remarkable way. At this rate neither of us stand an earthly chance of bringing her down and making off with the prize. The prize can vary from a ball to a stick, a twig or anything else that we can find. It’s great fun. Simple entertainment is always the best. We are developing our three way tug skills too, although my Mistress is a bit concerned that we make too much noise when we play that.’

Mum looked at Megan’s photo and said how alike we look at that age.

Wilma at 10 months

You can find short stories to read at www.alfiedog.com

Alfie’s Diary – the Book as well as our other books are available HERE

Happy Monday everyone.
