It\u2019s the election that\u2019s done it. He\u2019s depressed that he\u2019s not in a position to make a greater difference to the lives of dogs. He\u2019s worried that at his age, he won\u2019t be around to see the next general election and that there will be no one to take over leading the Pet Dogs Democratic Party in the future. He doesn\u2019t feel the need to step down as leader now. He says he\u2019s fought a good campaign and it\u2019s pointless to blame him that they haven\u2019t made the inroads they deserve. I said he should be grateful he didn\u2019t live in Scotland. I suspect unless you\u2019re a Highland Terrier, a Bearded Collie or one of the other Scottish born breeds that you wouldn\u2019t stand a chance up there. He\u2019s wondering if not being born in the UK is being held against him, but I said that shouldn\u2019t make any difference at all. He\u2019s lived here most of his life and dedicated his life to serving UK dogs. I\u2019m sure he\u2019ll be fine after he\u2019s had a few days to recover from the hard work of the election campaign.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t think I\u2019m supposed to be telling you this. I think he wanted to tell you when he\u2019s back on Monday, but he and our Mistress have set up a joint newsletter about their writing. They will only send something out to subscribers about once a month, but it will bring people the latest news on what they are working on and their books.
